Once again the Rio Casino Hotel will have as a guest the "World Series of Poker", the World Cup, in fact, the Olympics of poker, an event surrounded by an almost mythic aura, a dream for the amateurs, an essential test for the professionals. So, you don't know enough about poker, if you have not been at "WSOP".
I imagine rooms full of players, mostly fools, I see the cowboy hats swaying above the crowd, young players lost in their i-pod music, basketball shirts, the obese rich men sprawled on the sofas in the lobby, tipsy of vodka-based cocktails and dollars, some loser leaved in front of the bar. While you're walking the halls of "Rio", you may meet Phil Ivey and in that moment you'll think that he doesn't seem very different from you. I imagine the sharks that fleece at the tables some unfortunate man, the shameful secrets of casinos and royal suites.
The heat of midday sticks the shirt on you, Las Vegas as a bubble of light in the Nevada desert at night. And all of this waiting the game, waiting to sit at tables and play your cards.
With "Street View" on Google Maps, we make a tour on West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas; at number 3700 there's the "Rio Casino Hotel"
